Life itself does not violate the second law of thermodynamics, as even though entropy decreases with the emergence of life, the total entropy of the Universe can still increase. I believe it is a completely logical assumption that intelligent life, beyond a certain level of development, finds a better form for itself. In this respect, I resonate with what Kurzweil writes about in The Singularity Is Near: that humanity will eventually merge with technology, leaving behind our biological form, and only technology will remain. I think this is a necessary step, for example, if we aim to become an intergalactic species. Achieving this in our biological bodies would be extremely cumbersome. (I have an article on this topic as well, but unfortunately, it’s only in Hungarian—I might translate it into English in the near future.)
